Prof. Zhong-Qun Tian was Given ACS Division of Analytical Chemistry Award in Spectrochemical Analysis

  Recently American Chemical Society (ACS)announced 2017 Division of Analytical Chemistry Awards. Prof. Zhong-Qun Tianwas given Spectrochemical Analysis Award. The Award will be presented at theACS National Meeting in August 2017 in Washington, USA

  Spectrochemical Analysis Award was firstgiven in 1987. It aims to advance the fields of spectrochemical analysis andoptical spectrometry and reward the scientists who have a significantinternational influence in the field.

Prof.Zhong-QunTian earned his B.S. degree in Department of Chemistry from Xiamen University(1982) and his Ph.D., supervised by Professor Martin Fleischmann onelectrochemical surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy, from the University ofSouthampton (1987). He then returned to China and has worked at XiamenUniversity ever since. He was appointed Full Professor in 1992. His mainresearch interests are surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy,spectro-electrochemistry, plasmonics and molecular assembly. He published over 410papers and hold 25 patents. He was given a number of awards for his researchincluding Outstanding Young Scholar Award from Qiushi Foundation of Hong Kong(1999), Faraday Medal of Royal Society of Chemistry (2012), Prix JacquesTacussel of International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE) (2013) and theInnovation Prize of Spectroscopy of Hitachi (2015). He was elected as a Memberof the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry(2005), a Fellow of ISE (2010) and a member The World Academy of Sciences(2014). He currently is the President Elect of ISE, a member of the advisoryboard for over ten international journals including JACS and Chemical Science.He has been an associate editor for Sciencein China: Chemistry (2008-), J. RamanSpectroscopy (2009-) and Chem. Soc.Rev. (2012-).
