2017 edition of the International Advisory Committee Meeting

The second meeting of the second International Advisory Committee(IAC) Meeting of State Key Laboratory of Physical Chemistry of Solid Surfaces (PCOSS) was held in Xiamen on November 21-22, 2017. Seven IAC members, Prof. Christian Amatore from Ecole Normale Superieure Paris, France, Prof. Philip Bartlett from University of Southampton, UK, Prof. Luis Echegoyen from University of Texas at El Paso, USA, Prof. Klaus Müllen from Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research, Germany, Prof. Sason Shaik from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, Prof. Chunshan Song from the Pennsylvania State University, USA and Prof. Walter Thiel from Max Planck Institute for Coal Research, Germany, attended the meeting. Prof. Zhong Tan, the director of the Office of Science and Technology of Xiamen University and Prof. Yun-Bao Jiang, Dean of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering were invited to attend the meeting.
IAC members listened to the PCOSS annual report presented by Director Ye Wang and six highlight reports delivered by young faculties. IAC members and the PCOSS members had open discussion during the meeting. On behalf of IAC, Prof. Philip Bartlett, the rotating chairman gave the feedback to PCOSS. He expressed their views about the PCOSS management and research activities for the past year and made several pertinent suggestions to the research field of the laboratory and the way of self-improvement. IAC is looking forward to another fruitful year of PCOSS.
