The first meeting of Laboratory’s Second International Advisory Committee (IAC) was held on May 5-6, 2016. Seven Newly appointed IAC members, Christian Amatore (École Normale Supérieure, Paris, France), Philip N. Bartlett (University of Southampton, UK), Krijn P. de Jong (Utrecht University, The Netherlands), Kazunari Domen (The University of Tokyo, Japan), Luis Echegoyen(University of Texas at El Paso, USA), Klaus Müllen (Max-Planck-Institutfür Polymerforschung, Germany), and Chunshan Song (The Pennsylvania State University, USA) attended the meeting.
For faster and better development of the laboratory, in 2009, the first International Advisory committee was formed. The laboratory has been greatly benefited from former IAC’s precise guidance. During the past 6 year, the laboratory was reviewed twice by an external committee organized by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and ranked in the highest category(Grade A Laboratory) in all the occasions. Because of the significant impact produced by IAC, the laboratory decided to form the second International Advisory Committee.
Over the two days meeting, IAC members listened to the annual report given by Director Ye Wang and 9 highlight reports presented by laboratory members. They also walked into the laboratory to see the instrument platform and work environment, and discussed with individual laboratory members of their research works. Combining two days meeting and the information received previously about the laboratory’s management and research, the IAC recommends several issues. On behalf of IAC members, Prof. Amatore wrote dedicatedly a report and put forward the feasible suggestion to the sustainable development of the laboratory.
