Abstract:

In this talk the some properties of regular arrays of electroactive elements (electrodes, nanoparticles, etc.) will be considered which allow efficient modelling of those systems. Then it will be discussed how these principles can be extended to the case of disordered/random arrays, what are the main characteristics determining electrochemical response of random arrays and how semi-analytical expression for chronoamperometric current can be obtained. Using this semi-analytical treatment one can extract from amperometrical measurements statistical information characterizing distribution of the electrodes in a random array, information hardly accessible experimentally.
